Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up or companion items.
- Handles register transactions, including collecting cash, giving change, and processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products, such as guiding them to OTC aisles.
- Maintains cleanliness and merchandising of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records transactions. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information accurately, assisting with prescription filling, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Supports pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement. Complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handles non-urgent telephone inquiries, including calls to physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Assists with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and files claims for overages, shortages, or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as directed.
- Supports food product organization, stock rotation, and adherence to policies regarding product placement.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster printing, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pickups and delivery to customers.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes additional tasks and assignments as directed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration through ongoing training and continuing education.
- Participates in training sessions, acquires continuing education credits, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional Requirements
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
