Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Handles register transactions, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle when possible.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and records stock levels. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and complies with company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement. Adheres to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handles non-urgent telephone calls and communicates with physicians as needed.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services promptly and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for overages, shortages, or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Creates and maintains store displays and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with food and product placement, stock rotation, and restocking using FIFO method.
- Possesses working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring, filling, and delivering orders.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all company policies, maintains respectful relationships with coworkers, and completes assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state registration through ongoing training and education.
- Attends training sessions, completes PPLs, and acquires continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
