Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, and processing refunds, exchanges, and voids. Assists customers in locating products within the store.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and ensures accurate pricing and record-keeping.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information accurately, assisting in prescription filling, verifying medication correctness, and checking for interactions. Supports pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy safety and quality standards.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls and performs clerical duties as directed by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and filing claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains in-store displays, assists with product placement and stock rotation, and supports promotional activities.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos and promotional products, and manages web order pickups.
- Maintains store cleanliness and orderliness, and fosters respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes assigned tasks and special projects as directed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification or relevant state registration through designated training programs and continuing education.
- Attends training sessions, completes required coursework, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
