- Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service to customers.
- Assists the pharmacist under supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations, by using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, and to process prescriptions.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Shares and models customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., proactive help, needs identification, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items and upsells or suggests related products.
- Handles transactions, including voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges, and assists customers in locating products.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and assists with merchandise pricing and placement.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with workflow and scheduling.
- Reports prescription errors immediately and complies with policies regarding pharmacy safety and quality.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, processes third-party claims, and performs clerical tasks as directed.
- Supports inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and maintains knowledge of asset protection procedures.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products, and constructs or maintains store displays.
- Assists with food product placement, stock rotation, and store cleanliness.
- Has knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides photo services, manages web order pick-ups, and assists with store maintenance and policy compliance.
- Completes special assignments and tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and completes required training and continuing education to stay updated in healthcare and pharmacy practices.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
