Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up and/or companion items.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records transactions. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by store management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Adheres to the Walgreens policy on Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent telephone calls, including communications with physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains store displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as needed.
- Assists with food and product placement, stock rotation, and restocking.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos and promotional products.
- Supports web order pickup processes and maintains store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes additional tasks and assignments as directed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration through designated training programs.
- Participates in training, completes required continuing education, and stays informed about healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (excluding Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
