Job summary

Ascension Via Christi Hospitals in Wichita, KS is seeking a pharmacist to join the Retail Pharmacy team on a rotating, PRN schedule. The role focuses on optimizing patient outcomes by reviewing medication orders, providing real-time drug information, and ensuring accurate compounding and dispensing.

You will mentor technicians and counsel patients to support safe, effective therapy. Requires Kansas Board of Pharmacy licensure within 90 days of hire and a PharmD or higher.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
• Hospital/health-system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and optimize medication orders to prevent drug-related problems.
• Provide expert drug information and real-time consultations to medical staff during overnight hours.
• Ensure medication integrity through accurate compounding and dispensing.
• Mentor and oversee pharmacy technicians and students.
• Counsel patients clearly and compassionately about their medications and therapy.

• Guarantee medication integrity through the precise compounding and dispensing of pharmaceuticals, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy for every patient journey.
• Mentor and oversee pharmacy technicians and students, fostering a collaborative environment that ensures seamless pharmacy operations and professional growth.
• Empower patients through clear, compassionate counseling on their medication therapy, ensuring they feel confident and informed about their recovery.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Work Experience

• Hospital experience preferred.
