Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Pharmacy Informatics Specialist to bridge clinical practice with informatics. You will support the medication EHR, design and implement builds, and collaborate with clinicians to improve patient safety and workflow efficiency.

The role requires 3+ years as a pharmacist, Epic Willow certification, and experience with medication records. Remote first shift with on-call duties and full-time hours are offered.

Qualifications

• Exceptional candidates will demonstrate strong clinical judgment combined with systems thinking.
• Experience with medication records, formularies, medication shortages, CNR/dispense prep, labeling, interfaces, automated dispensing systems, or infusion pumps.
• Ability to translate clinical decisions and operational needs into clear system build requirements.
• Ability to facilitate effective cross-functional decision-making.
• Proactive identification and communication of risks.
• Ability to work independently while appropriately seeking peer review and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Leverages pharmacist clinical and informatics skills to support the medication electronic health record and serves as a liaison for clinical informatics.
• Develops informatics plans, data analysis, and systems to advance evidence-based practice and improve medication safety.
• Designs, evaluates, and implements new EHR builds to support clinical practice and improve patient care quality.
• Consults with providers and leadership to evaluate information systems and communicates complex informatics issues.
• Supports informatics solutions for clinical and operational improvements.
• Assists in creating data analytics to facilitate data review and improve performance.
• Develops and implements automated clinical rules supporting patient care.
• Consults with external agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
