Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Active Pharmacy License in good standing with your state Board of Pharmacy AND Idaho Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong command of the English language (written and verbal); bilingual Spanish preferred for phone-based patient counseling.

Responsibilities

• Verify and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness and safety.
• Validate prescription data entry by technicians for accuracy.
• Perform pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a closed-door setting before shipment.
• Conduct daily prospective drug utilization review (DUR) to identify clinical flags.
• Manage specialty medication handling including cold-chain requirements.
• Provide proactive outbound patient counseling and handle inbound clinical inquiries.
• Document patient interactions in the pharmacy management system and support Spanish-speaking patients when needed.
• Collaborate with prescribers to clarify incomplete/ambiguous prescriptions and explore formulary alternatives.
