Job summary

AbbVie Inc. in North Chicago, IL seeks a Production Specialist I to support high-speed pharmaceutical finishing, packaging, and line clearances. You will collaborate with peers to maintain safety, quality, and lean execution on a finishing line, while driving continuous improvement.

The role involves setup assistance, line housekeeping, minor equipment adjustments, and adherence to cGMP standards. Expect 40–48 hours weekly with potential overtime, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Quality focus and adherence to site policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate issues to engineering/mechanical teams.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new programs.
• Familiarity with POMs, SAP and MAXIMO is a plus.
• Knowledge of cGMP requirements and procedures is preferred.
• Standing 8-12 hours per day, lifting up to 25 pounds.
• 40-48 hours per week, with potential for up to 60 hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Perform housekeeping on finishing lines and complete line clearances.
• Assist in setup of automated equipment in packaging areas.
• Operate and service automated and semi-automated equipment to produce finished product.
• Conduct in-process checks and bulk/commodity accountability tasks.
• Maintain 6S of parts and tooling on the production floor.
• Escalate safety, quality, or equipment issues promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and align with production schedule.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and make small adjustments.
