Job summary

Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support procurement operations within the petroleum equipment industry. You will manage vendor relationships, coordinate material deliveries, verify purchases, and maintain accurate inventory and safety/environmental records.

Key responsibilities include evaluating pricing and availability, coordinating delivery schedules, approving invoices, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with Safety and EHS to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Purchasing, procurement, inventory, or related industry experience preferred.
• Petroleum equipment or industrial purchasing experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate pricing, quality, and material availability.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and resolve shipping issues.
• Verify materials and purchases upon delivery.
• Review and authorize invoices while maintaining accurate records.
• Manage inventory levels and related documentation.
• Collaborate with Safety and EHS personnel to maintain required records.
• Support day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities.
