Job summary

Alpine Veterinary Hospital in Cabin John, MD is seeking a Client Service Representative to warmly welcome clients and their pets, answer phones, schedule appointments, check in/out, and handle payments. A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is required; veterinary background is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Veterinary experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in helping people and caring for pets.
• Comfortable speaking with clients in person and over the phone.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
• Reliable, professional, and positive attitude.
• Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to learn veterinary terminology, procedures, and hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and their pets with a friendly, professional attitude
• Answer phones and respond to client questions
• Schedule appointments and manage the hospital’s appointment calendar
• Check clients in and out efficiently and accurately
• Process payments and assist with financial transactions
• Communicate appointment details and treatment information to clients
• Maintain accurate client and patient records
• Coordinate communication between clients, veterinary technicians, and doctors
• Help clients understand next steps for their pet’s care
• Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
• Support the veterinary team with administrative and hospital tasks as needed
