Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to join our veterinary team. You will work with the medical staff to prepare for examinations, assist during procedures, and ensure a welcoming environment for clients and pets.

You will help with routine lab work, patient comfort, and hospital hygiene while educating clients on preventive care and wellness plans. A strong customer service mindset and ability to multi-task are essential.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Prepare the treatment room for examination and assemble medical items for the veterinarian.
• Set up fecals, smears, and skin scrapings as allowed by state rules.
• Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service in alignment with the role.
• Provide client education on preventive care and wellness plans.
• Support Client Services Coordinator staff as needed.
• Restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house lab tests per state rules.
• Monitor comfort of hospitalized patients.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness and care of animals and facilities.
