Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering quality care for pets. You will educate clients about wellness plans, gather patient histories, and help maintain medical charts in a busy hospital environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, ensuring hospital safety, and mentoring other paraprofessionals. Weekend and evening hours may be required to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography (x-ray).
• One year related experience with customer service preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy hospital setting.
• Strong communication in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and services.
• Obtain client history and maintain medical charts.
• Assist with surgery as applicable.
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
• Ensure safety and maintain clean, organized treatment areas.
