Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to join our veterinary medical team in Maple Grove, MN. You will help prepare examination rooms, assist with vaccines and lab work, and support clients with preventive care information to promote patient well-being.

You will also restrain and handle pets during procedures, maintain hospital cleanliness, and ensure comfort for hospitalized patients. The role requires strong communication, organization, and computer skills, with availability

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography (x-ray) duties.
• One year related experience preferred with customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room and supplies for examinations.
• Maintain the Cycle of Service and provide client education.
• Restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house lab tests (e.g., heartworm tests).
• Monitor comfort of hospitalized pets and maintain cleanliness.
• Bathe and dip pets as needed for dermatological conditions.
• Clean the surgical suite and instruments.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness (laundry, dishes, mopping, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
