Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals in Blaine, Minnesota is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to support veterinary teams in daily patient care and client service. The role includes room preparation, specimen handling, lab test setup, and helping with examinations and procedures.

The position requires strong communication, multitasking, and a customer-focused approach; some duties may involve extended hours and weekend shifts in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography duties.
• One year of related customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room and supplies for examinations.
• Set up fecals, smears and skin scrapings as allowed by state rules.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians and provide client support.
• Restrain pets during examinations, treatments or inoculations.
• Prepare in-house lab tests such as canine heartworm and FIV as allowed by state rules.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and keep them comfortable and clean.
• Clean the surgical suite and hospital areas.
