Banfield Pet Hospitals in Saint Louis Park, MN, is hiring a Pet Care Assistant to support the veterinary team. You will prepare treatment rooms, restrain pets when needed, and assist with in-house tests and general hospital care.

The role emphasizes customer service, communication in English, and the ability to multi-task in a busy clinic environment. Weekend and evening hours are required, with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• One year related experience required with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room for examination of pets and all necessary medical items and supplies.
• Set up fecals, smears, and skin scrapings as allowed by state rules and regulations.
• Serve as support to the Client Services Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests (e.g. canine heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, and canine parvovirus).
• Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients and ensure their care.
• Clean the surgical suite and instruments.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness including housekeeping tasks.
• Other job duties as assigned.
