Job summary

Humane Society of Charlotte seeks an Adoption & Client Specialist to connect animals with loving families and respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person. You will work with animals and adopters to facilitate adoptions in a compassionate, inclusive environment.

The role requires weekend availability and a semi-flexible schedule with 2-3 shifts per week. Prior animal-related experience is a plus; strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to provide exceptional care and

Qualifications

• Required: Weekend availability.
• Preferred: six months to one year animal-related experience or training.
• Knowledge of veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary assistant is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with potential adopters and team members.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining compassion for animals and people.
• Commitment to promoting animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
• Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats and able to walk large dogs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Computer literate in a Windows environment; Microsoft 365 Applications.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer care.
• Complete adoption paperwork.
• Collect and maintain accurate records.
• Make lifelong matches between customers and our pets.
• Provide information about Humane Society of Charlotte’s policies and the animals in the shelter via phone, email, or in-person interactions.
