Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a motivated Pest Control Technician to perform residential pest management and inspect properties for infestations. You will apply approved pest control products, educate customers, and build lasting relationships while following safety regulations.

Responsibilities include driving a company vehicle, maintaining equipment, and assisting with sales to current and new customers. If you are reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work indoors and outdoors in California climates,

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
Pest control licenses/certificates as required by regulations.
Open to learning all areas of pest control.
Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform pest management services for residential customers.
Inspect client properties for pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
Identify pest types and determine appropriate treatment methods.
Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps.
Educate customers on pest prevention and reducing future infestation risks.
Build customer relationships and schedule and confirm appointments.
Assist with sales to current customers and expand products to new customers.
Maintain, stock, and ensure proper working condition of pest control equipment.
Follow federal, state, and local pest-control-product and safety regulations.
Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle.
Work independently in customers’ residences, properties, and places of business.
Resolve conflicts and disputes in a non-violent and non-disruptive manner.
Safely handle regulated chemicals and customer/company records.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver’s license from state of residence
Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations
Clean-shaven face for respirator safety
Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
Open to learning all areas of pest control
Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
Basic math skills sufficient to follow product-label mixing instructions
Customer-facing experience preferred
Able to work in tight, confined spaces
Able to work around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals
Able to work inside and outside in the local climate
Able to regularly sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
Able to wear OSHA-compliant personal protective equipment, including a respirator
Able to safely operate a company vehicle on public streets

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in pest management services, including inspection, identification, and treatment of pest infestations. Proficient in customer education, relationship building, and compliance with safety regulations.
