Pest Control Field Supervisor
Location: Buchanan, NY | Pay: $65,000 – $70,000 per year.
Position Overview
The Pest Control Field Supervisor leads and manages a team of approximately ten or more pest control technicians, ensuring delivery of exceptional customer experiences throughout the Hudson Valley Branch.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, motivate, and lead the service team of technicians.
- Identify and implement scheduling strategies to ensure adequate coverage during peak volume periods.
- Efficiently schedule routes for field technicians, managing daily route optimization and achieving 70+% technician utilization.
- Performance‑manage service team employees and conduct regularly scheduled team meetings to review field experiences, provide coaching, and clarify expectations.
- Respond to technician questions and coach the team through difficult client situations, diffusing upset clients when needed.
- Ensure team members meet Key Performance Indicators—tech utilization, tech efficiency, customer NPS, and customer retention—and take corrective action as necessary.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, OSHA/FIFA regulations, and DEC requirements, including technician certifications.
- Communicate with customers to confirm satisfaction, recommend additional services, and build long‑term relationships.
- Operate and maintain the company‑provided vehicle in a safe manner.
- Select appropriate products for required treatments and use company materials efficiently, minimizing waste and maximizing utilization to stay within 5% of revenue.
- Manage proper pickup and disposal of used materials.
Qualifications
- Maintain a company vehicle in accordance with Department of Transportation and company guidelines.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong customer service orientation with at least two (2) years of previous experience in a customer‑service role.
- Ability to use personal protective equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical capability to walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of tree/shrub treatment or pest control products and services is a plus.
- Successfully complete a background check and drug test.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
- At least three (3) years of driving experience and a valid New York State driver’s license.
- Three to five (3‑5) years of experience managing a field team.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during peak hours or intense situations.
- Experience managing customer conflict.
- Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, problem‑solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
