Job summary

Genesis Health Clubs in West Des Moines, IA seeks a Personal Training Manager to lead the PT department, recruit and train staff, and drive profitability across the program. You will oversee scheduling, member consultations, and ensure quality service while meeting club goals.

The role requires weekend/evening availability, a national PT certification and CPR, and the ability to manage a team, track metrics, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a national recognized personal training certification and CPR certification
• Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 35+ pounds
• Ability to communicate with guests and other associates, including reading, writing and speaking

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, scheduling and training personal trainers.
• Oversee profitability of the personal training program and monitor new member follow-up and department goals.
• Maintain flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the members and the club.
• Track and report on new member fitness consultations and personal training sessions.
• Meet regularly with Club Manager to maintain club requirements and operations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly profitability/goal reports with District Fitness Manager.
• Ensure timely completion of required daily reports and checklists.
• Inspect trainers for proper new member follow-up.
• Maintain equipment and update online tracking system for repairs.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and uphold staff policies.
• Develop and implement strategies to support departmental goals and staff development.
• Foster a team atmosphere and motivate staff to perform at their best.
