Job summary

AM WELL ASSISTANCE SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking compassionate Personal Support Specialists to deliver essential non-medical care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in clients' homes, helping maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.

You will assist with ADLs, mobility support, light housekeeping, meal planning, companionship, transportation to appointments, and report changes to supervisors to ensure safe, consistent care.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and patient with an elderly or disabled population.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks and assist with ADLs.
• Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Provide mobility support including transfers and fall prevention.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation per dietary needs.
• Offer companionship and engage in social activities.
• Assist with transportation to appointments and running errands.
• Observe changes in health and report updates to supervisor.

Your support helps our clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility Support: Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention.
• Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy.
• Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs.
• Companionship: Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies.
• Transportation: Escort clients to doctor’s appointments and help with essential errands.
• Reporting: Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Certification: Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of active auto insurance.
• Character: A patient, sympathetic attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Physical: Ability to perform the physical tasks required of the role (lifting, bending, and standing).
