Job summary

AM WELL ASSISTANCE SOLUTIONS LLC in Maine is seeking compassionate Personal Support Specialists to provide non-medical in-home care for seniors and individuals with disabilities, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Maine PSS Certification or willingness to complete training.
• Reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing) and assist with ADLs.

Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility Support: Help with walking, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Household Support: Light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, tidying areas.
• Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal prep per dietary needs.
• Companionship: Provide emotional support, conversation, and engagement in activities.
• Transportation: Escort to appointments and assist with errands.
• Reporting: Observe changes and report updates to the supervisor.

About the Role

Your support helps our clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility Support: Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention.
• Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy.
• Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs.
• Companionship: Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies.
• Transportation: Escort clients to doctor's appointments and help with essential errands.
• Reporting: Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Certification: Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of active auto insurance.
• Character: A patient, sympathetic attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
