Job summary

AM WELL ASSISTANCE SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking compassionate Personal Support Specialists to provide essential non-medical care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes. You will help clients maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life through ADLs, mobility support, meal planning, and companionship.

The role includes assistance with daily activities, light housekeeping, transportation, and careful reporting of any changes to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Maine PSS Certification required or willingness to complete training.
• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Mobility Support: help with walking, transfers, fall prevention.
• Household Support: light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, tidying).
• Nutrition: assist with meal planning and healthy meals according to dietary needs.
• Companionship: provide emotional support and engage in social activities.
• Transportation: escort to doctor appointments and run essential errands.
• Reporting: observe and document changes and communicate updates to supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility Support: Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention.
• Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy.
• Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs.
• Companionship: Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies.
• Transportation: Escort clients to doctor's appointments and help with essential errands.
• Reporting: Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Certification: Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of active auto insurance.
• Character: A patient, sympathetic attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Physical: Ability to perform the physical tasks required of the role (lifting, bending, and standing).
