Job summary

AM WELL ASSISTANCE SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking compassionate Personal Support Specialists to provide non-medical in-home care for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Maine. You will support daily living activities, safety, and independence.

You will accompany clients to appointments, assist with meals and light housekeeping, and document changes in health to your supervisor. A Maine PSS certification and a patient-centered mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Maine PSS Certification required or willingness to complete training.
• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable vehicle with valid driver's license and active auto insurance proof.
• Compassionate, patient attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to high-quality care.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing.

Responsibilities

• Personal Care: assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Mobility Support: help with walking, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Household Support: light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, tidying living areas.
• Nutrition: assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal prep.
• Companionship: provide emotional support and engage in social activities.
• Transportation: escort to doctor appointments and run errands.
• Reporting: observe changes and communicate updates to the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobility Support: Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention.
• Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy.
• Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs.
• Companionship: Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies.
• Transportation: Escort clients to doctor's appointments and help with essential errands.
• Reporting: Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor.

Requirements
