Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Director of Strategy Execution to lead guidelines, models, and decision logic for Personal Lines. You will partner with Analytics, Product, IT, and Underwriting Operations to deploy strategies at scale.

You will mentor a team, drive automation, and translate analytic outputs into actionable underwriting guidance, with executive-level communication and governance oversight.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant work experience and 3+ years of proven experience leading cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end underwriting guidelines strategy for Personal Lines.
• Lead development, governance, and evolution of underwriting rules and models.
• Define strategic roadmap for underwriting models with Analytics and Actuarial.
• Translate analytic outputs into actionable underwriting guidance for automated and human decisioning.
• Establish governance for guideline changes and model deployments.
• Drive underwriting modernization including automation and straight-through processing.
• Partner with IT to implement strategies in systems and monitor post-deployment.
• Develop monitoring loops to assess guideline/model performance and enhancements.
• Produce executive-ready materials explaining logic and tradeoffs.
• Lead and develop a team of strategy professionals; mentor and manage performance.
• Represent underwriting strategy in senior leadership forums.
