Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support individuals with mental health diagnoses, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. Responsibilities include assessing goals, promoting community participation, safeguarding rights, and documenting progress.

Travel and overnight shifts may be required, with a focus on person-centered support and advocacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Driver's license is required to fulfill driving/travel duties.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports to help achieve them.
• Support people in developing relationships in their community and with natural supports.
• Assist individuals in participating fully in their community according to their interests.
• Promote rights and advocacy for people receiving services and help them engage personal advocates.
• Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
• Build positive, person-centered relationships and promote self-determination.
• Document progress and input into assessments and individual plans.
• Complete required forms, timesheets, incident reports, and logs accurately.
• Assist with daily home operations: housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, and upkeep.
• Provide transportation to services as required and assist with safety procedures.
• Support staff orientation, mentoring, and training; may require sleepovers.
