Job summary

Monarch Healthcare is seeking a Developmental Specialist in North Carolina to support individuals with mental health needs and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on helping clients achieve personal goals, build community connections, and participate in activities aligned with their interests.

You will work closely with teams to implement person-centered plans, document progress, and ensure safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid driver's license (USA).
• Experience with populations served (mental health, IDD, substance use) is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports that facilitate achievement.
• Support people in developing relationships in their community and with their natural supports.
• Assist people in participating fully in their community aligned with their interests.
• Ensure rights of individuals are protected and promoted; assist advocacy efforts and personal advocates.
• Provide support to meet emotional, physical, and medical needs of each person.
• Foster person-centered, positive relationships promoting self-determination.
• Provide input into assessment, planning processes, and development of the individual’s plan.
• Implement the plan fully and document goal completion, actions toward outcomes, and incident reports.
• Complete daily progress notes and communication logs for appointments, goals, and interests.
• Assist with day-to-day home operations (housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, etc.).
• Drive and travel as required; arrange or provide transportation as needed.
• Assist with emergency procedures and personal safety; conduct drills and ensure safety.
• Mentor and train new staff and current staff as needed.
• Sleepovers at residential settings may be required.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain agency, state, and federal training requirements.
