Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Developmental Specialist for a PRN role, providing person-centered supports to individuals with mental health diagnoses and developmental needs. You’ll help clients achieve their dreams, build community connections, and promote independent living.

You will work on a variety of tasks including planning, advocacy, safety procedures, and collaborative meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid USA driver’s license.
• Experience with individuals with MH diagnoses, ID/DD, or SUD.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports that facilitate achievement.
• Help clients develop relationships in their community and with natural supports.
• Assist clients in participating fully in their community according to their interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of each person and support advocacy efforts.
• Provide support to meet emotional, physical, and medical needs as required.
• Build positive, person-centered relationships that promote self-determination.
• Contribute input into assessment and planning processes for individual plans.
• Implement plans and document goal progress, incidents, timesheets, etc.
• Complete daily progress notes and communications to track appointments and goals.
• Assist with day-to-day home operations: housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, etc.
• Drive and travel as required; arrange or provide transportation.
• Support knowledge of emergency procedures and personal safety; conduct safety drills.
• Assist new staff with orientation, mentoring, and training.
• Sleepover at residential settings may be required.
• Attend meetings and training; maintain required certifications.
• Follow all policies, state and federal regulations relevant to programs.
