Job summary

New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a Principal Administrative Associate II to supervise the Permits Unit Borough Operations, serving as the authority on all permit matters for subordinates and ensuring efficient workflow.

Under Borough Manager direction you will monitor time and leave, conduct performance evaluations, analyze unit metrics, and report results to the Borough Office Administrative Liaison and/or Borough Manager.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree plus two years of clerical/administrative experience, with at least one year in a supervisory/admin capacity; or
  • An associate degree or 60 credits plus three years of clerical/administrative experience, including one year supervisory; or
  • A four-year high school diploma plus four years of clerical/administrative experience, including one year supervisory; or
  • Education/experience equivalent to above, with one year of supervisory/admin experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the authority on all permit related matters for all subordinate employees in the Borough Office.
  • Utilize agency software to distribute and manage the work of all Permits Unit employees; monitor time and leave.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and issue tasks and standards to all subordinate employees.
  • Analyze the Permits Unit workflow to ensure optimal operation and maintain productivity; perform QA checks at permit processing intervals.

Knowledge of UMAX & PARIS
Monitoring Borough Office Metrics

Education

Bachelor's degree
Associate degree or 60 credits
High school diploma
Education/experience equivalent to 1-3 with supervisory
