The City of Tempe is seeking a seasoned supervisor to oversee the Development Services section, delivering high level customer service on technical and administrative issues and implementing process improvements to speed permit workflows.
Duties include supervising staff, coordinating permit reviews, assisting with reinstatements and renewals, guiding project coordination with internal teams, and monitoring state and local code changes to update policies accordingly.
Schedule: Monday - Friday- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Experience: ¿¿2 years of experience¿ in municipal permit processing and/or private development construction or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Equivalent Education: Associate’s or vocational/technical school degree
The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal one-year increments for college-level education (2 additional years for an associate degree and 4 additional years for a bachelor’s degree).
