Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishables Department Lead to manage the produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and frozen sections under the Store Manager’s supervision. You will help ensure fresh, high‑quality merchandise, accurate pricing, and engaging displays while protecting company assets and maintaining food safety standards.

You’ll train and guide assigned associates, monitor stock levels, implement markdowns, and respond to customer needs in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in lead or grocery store roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain perishable stock levels based on store volume and planograms.
• Assist with inventory management, pricing, and customer service.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, and safety standards.
• Record inventory and markdown activities and address variances.
