Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Lead to manage stores' produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and other perishable categories. You will support the Store Manager with inventory control, merchandising, and ensuring high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail with supervisory exposure is advantageous.
• Knowledge of perishable product handling and safety rules is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with accurate cash accountability and adherence to cash control procedures.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using perishable-focused tools and guides.
• Train associates on proper stocking, freshness standards, and pricing.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety policies across perishable departments.
