Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager in the United States to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen Foods and Bakery perishables. You will ensure inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence and strong customer service.

Under supervision, you will train associates, enforce food handling rules, and protect store assets while maintaining store standards and product quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using provided tools.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards.
• Train staff in proper safe handling of food and compliance with rules.
• Execute hourly recovery standards to meet store expectations.
• Stock and rotate perishable products to ensure quality.
• Assist in scheduling coverage and assess work completion with staff.
