Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to manage produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods, bakery, and related areas under the Store Manager. You will help with inventory, merchandising, safety, training, and customer service to ensure top-notch operations.

Strong organization, cash handling, and supervisory experience are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with emphasis on food handling certifications where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with financial integrity and cash controls.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and company policies.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using provided tools.
• Train associates in perishable presentation and safety.
• Record inventory levels and support customer service.
• Monitor sanitation and safety in Perishable departments.
• Assist other operations as directed by the Store Manager.
• Ensure pricing standards and freshness.
