Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to lead the perishables team, hire and train staff, and drive department performance. You will manage scheduling, coaching, and daily operations to meet budgeted goals while maintaining high standards of service and food safety.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Must be able to lead and direct others.
  • Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or able to achieve accreditation within 90 days; maintain accreditation during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and development of department staff.
  • Supervise duties and performance, provide ongoing coaching and conduct formal appraisals.
  • Oversee daily labor management and productivity coaching to meet targets.
  • Promote a culture aligned with Food Lion values and strategic goals.
  • Ensure department procedures, safety, sanitation and policy compliance are followed.
