Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to oversee hiring, training and development of department staff, while driving labor efficiency and performance. You will lead a team to deliver friendly, fast service and maintain product quality and safety in a fast-paced store environment.

You will be accountable for achieving budgeted results, scheduling, ordering, and compliance with safety and company guidelines, ensuring a consistent, positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific functions.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements with/without accommodations.
• Accredited by NRFP or able to achieve accreditation within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and development of department staff.
• Supervise performance and conduct formal appraisals for direct reports.
• Manage labor and coaching to meet productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership that reflects the company values and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
