Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Leader to oversee the Perishable Department in a Food Lion store. You will hire, train, and develop department associates and manage daily labor to meet productivity targets, while maintaining customer-focused service.

You will drive department performance, ensure compliance with safety policies, and support budgeted financial results through effective merchandise management and leadership within the store team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or obtain accreditation within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture reflecting our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Promote fast, friendly customer service and positive shopping experiences.
