Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a leader to manage the Perishable Departments including produce, dairy, meats, bakery, and frozen items. You will assist with inventory management, merchandise presentation and strong customer service, while protecting assets and ensuring food safety compliance.

Under store supervision, you will help train associates, monitor stock levels and implement approved pricing and rotation standards to minimize waste and optimize profits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability, key control and security procedures.
• Maintain perishable stock levels and plan merchandising using provided guides and orders.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Record inventory levels and ensure customer needs are addressed promptly.
