Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store-lead to manage Perishable Departments including produce, meats, dairy, and bakery. You’ll support the Store Manager with inventory management, merchandising, and delivering quality customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring food safety, training associates in proper stocking and rotation, and maintaining accurate perishable inventory while upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, employee handbook, and company communications.
• Assist with inventory management and perishable stock levels.
• Train associates on perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Ensure safe handling of food and adherence to regulations.
