Job summary

Dollar General seeks a dedicated leader to oversee perishable departments including produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods and bakery. You will assist in inventory management, pricing, and merchandising to ensure freshness and customer satisfaction, while maintaining safety and compliance with food handling rules.

Responsibilities include training associates, managing markdowns, and ensuring accurate cash handling and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments including produce, meat, dairy, and bakery.
• Assist Store Manager with inventory management and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure safe working environment and compliance with food handling rules.
• Train associates on proper presentation, freshness, pricing and safety standards.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain inventory levels and respond to customer needs promptly.
• Perform cash accountability, key control and security procedures.
• Adhere to SOPs and company communications
