Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Perishable Lead in Nashville to manage the produce, meats, dairy, bakery and other perishables, ensuring inventory accuracy, attractive merchandising and excellent customer service. You will assist the Store Manager with safety, safety compliance and store operations while training associates in proper handling, stocking and rotation of perishables.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1 year retail with 6 months supervisory experience and relevant food

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability, key control and adherence to security practices.
• Follow SOPs, employee handbook and company communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using store tools and guides.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishables.
• Train and supervise staff in safe handling of food and in following regulations.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed promptly.
• Ensure sanitation standards and training in Perishable departments.
