Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate cash register and POS systems.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Willingness to obtain required local food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments (Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen, Bakery) and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Train associates on freshness, pricing, and safe food handling.
• Assist in scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and daily store needs.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and prevent recurrences.
• Ensure sanitation standards are followed in Perishable areas.
