Job summary

Dollar General in Pleasant Plains, AR is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to manage produce, dairy, meat, bakery and frozen goods under store leadership. You will oversee stock levels, pricing, merchandising, safety and customer service while helping the Store Manager protect assets and ensure compliance with food handling rules.

You’ll train associates, run inventory reports, coordinate with vendors, and maintain clean, inviting displays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cash accountability, key control, and adherence to company security practices and cash control procedures.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using various tools and guides (Ads/Planners, Order guides, Recaps).
• Train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas and safe handling of food.
• Record Perishable Markdowns and investigate causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and plan‑o‑gram guidance; assist with other operational areas as directed.
• Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly.
