Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department leader to support store operations, supervise staff, and drive customer service excellence. You will hire/train team members, manage labor, and coach associates to achieve productivity targets while upholding Food Lion's values and standards.

Role requires strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of department products to meet budgeted financial results and deliver a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Accredited as a Certified Food Safety Manager or eligible to attain within 90 days; accreditation maintained while employed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and provide ongoing performance management and training for direct reports.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to meet productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership and motivate store team to reflect guiding principles and values.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service and a positive shopping experience.
