Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to manage the Perishable Departments including produce, meats, dairy, bakery, and frozen items. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising, and customer service, while ensuring safety and compliance with food handling rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year retail experience with 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Certifications in food handling as applicable in locale.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with perishable stock levels and inventory control.
• Maintain merchandising presentation and quality customer service.
• Ensure safety and sanitation compliance in perishable departments.
• Train associates on perishable handling, pricing and rotation.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Support cash accountability, key control and security practices.
