Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Manager in Harrisonburg, VA to lead the Perishable Department and drive store performance. You will hire, train, and develop staff, manage daily labor and coaching, and ensure quality, safety, and customer service aligned with Food Lion values.

You will support budgeting, promote a positive shopping experience, and oversee department operations, scheduling, and compliance with company policies in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and conduct formal evaluations for direct reports.
• Daily staffing and coaching to meet productivity goals.
• Provide leadership that reflects company values and strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and department appearance.
