Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Perishable Department Lead to manage produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen items. You will assist in inventory control, merchandising, and customer service while ensuring food safety and store safety compliance.

Ideal candidates have 1 year retail experience with some supervisory exposure and are capable of training staff in stocking, rotation, and quality standards across perishable areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Certifications in food handling as applicable.
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain cash controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Departments including produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen items.
• Assist Store Manager with inventory management and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure safe working environment and compliance with food handling rules.
• Train associates on perishable stock, pricing, rotation and freshness.
• Record inventory levels and assist with customer service requests.
