Job summary

Dollar General seeks a perishable department supervisor to manage produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen goods. You will assist with inventory control, pricing, and customer service while ensuring safe operations and regulatory compliance.

You will lead training of associates in freshness, presentation, and sanitation, and help maintain stock levels and markdowns to optimize store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain perishable stock levels based on store volume using planning tools such as Current Ads/Planners and order guides.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Train associates in proper and safe handling of food in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Assist Store Manager in training staff and addressing customer needs efficiently.
