Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Lead to supervise the produce, meat, dairy and bakery areas. You will support inventory management, merchandise presentation and customer service while ensuring a safe work environment and policy compliance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and prior retail and supervisory experience, plus any required food handling certifications. Relocation is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Perishable Departments including produce, meats, dairy, bakery and related areas.
• Assist Store Manager with inventory management, merchandising and customer service.
• Train associates in presentation, freshness, safety and pricing standards.
• Maintain perishable stock levels and record markdowns with corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and company policies.
