UPMC is seeking a Perioperative SCM Operations Coordinator to support St. Margaret Operating Room.

The role focuses on timely, accurate inventory ordering and close collaboration with clinical staff to meet service levels in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include monitoring walk-in inventory, managing par levels, and ensuring proper labeling and traceability of surgical supplies, with emphasis on cost control and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related work experience.
• Previous inventory control experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Experience managing medical product inventories preferred
• Act 34

Responsibilities

• Monitors and controls walk-in inventory from vendor reps.
• Monitors consignment levels and ensures product availability for surgical load.
• Develops and evaluates par levels and adjusts to support service levels.
• Receives high dollar products into inventory management system.
• Identifies items to be ordered as warehouse stock or non-stock and labels for traceability.
• Checks expiration dates monthly and redistributes slow moving products to reduce waste.
• Responds quickly to emergent physician and clinical requests and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Examines incoming shipments to verify accuracy and quality against PO quantities.
